Pinching



Damage mode Causes Solutions

● by pinching, it means accumulation

of parts of the tiny burns on the gliding surface leads to surface damage

● linear scars of  the circumferential direction of raceways and rolling surface
● axle toroidal
pendulum scar on roller end surface
● pinching at the roller end surface
● overload, excessive preload
● poor lubrication
● foreign particles
● inner and outer rings misalignment, shaft deflection
● poor precision of axle and bearing box
● check the bearing load
● appropriate preload
● improve lubricant and lubricating method
● check the shaft and housing precision

● spherical  roller bearing inner ring
● squeeze on inner ring flange surface
● caused by roller skidding due to acceleration and deceleration

● inner ring of thrust tapered roller bearing
● squeeze on inner ring flange surface
● due to intrusion of wear powder; overload leads to oil film hot breaking

bearing Pinching

● roller of double row cylindrical roller bearing
● squeeze on roller end face
● poor lubrication, excessive axial load
