Preparations prior to mounting or dismounting
Rolling bearings are reliable machine parts, if installed and maintained properly, life can be very long. To properly install, the installer not only need to have a wealth of experience, but also a serious responsibility to keep the environment clean installation, to ensure the accuracy of the installation, using the correct method of installation and the applicable special installation tools.
Prior to mounting, be sure all the necessary parts, tools, equipment and data are readily available. It is also advisable to review any drawings or instructions to determine the correct order and direction that components are to be assembled. Leave the bearings in their original packages until immediately prior to mounting so that they are not exposed to any contaminants. If there is a risk that the bearings have become contaminated due to improper handling or damaged packaging, they should be washed and dried prior to mounting.
Checking associated components
Housings, shafts, seals and other components of the shaft system should be checked to make sure that they are clean. This is particularly important for threaded holes, lead-ins or grooves where remnants of previous machining operations might have collected. Also, be sure that all unpainted surfaces of cast housings are free of core sand and that any burrs are removed.
Removing the preservative
Normally, the preservative applied to new bearings does not need to be removed. It is only necessary to wipe off the outside and bore surfaces. However, if bearings are to be grease lubricated and used at very high or very low temperatures or if the lubricant to be used is not compatible with the preservative, the bearing should be washed and dried carefully. Bearings capped with seals or shields are filled with grease and should not be washed prior to mounting.
Install
Bearing handling
It is generally a good idea to use gloves as well as carrying and lifting tools, which have been specially designed for mounting and dismounting bearings. This will save not only time and money but the work will also be less tiring, less risky .
Use a feeler clearance
Measuring medium and large bearings before installation, radial clearance during and after the installation of the feeler is frequently used
Mounting bearings with a cylindrical bore
Select the appropriate bearing installation tools and small bearings. Using the appropriate bearing installation tools install small bearings.If the shaft has an external or internal thread, threaded onto the shaft bearing.
If a bearing has to be pressed onto the shaft and into the housing bore at the same time,it must be the same, including the mounting force applied on the outer ring. To install a lot of bearing, you can use mechanical presses or hydraulic presses. When using the press, the right sleeve placed between the plug and the bearing ring to be installed.
Mounting bearings with a tapered bore
Small and medium-size bearings can be driven up onto a tapered seat using either a bearing fitting tool or, preferably, a lock nut. For adapter sleeves, use the sleeve nut that can be tightened with a hook or impact spanner. Withdrawal sleeves can be driven into the bearing bore using a bearing fitting tool or an end plate.
remove the preparing work before
Before starting any action, we should follow the following principles:
Thoroughly clean the bearing location and the surrounding area;
Prepare appropriate container, in order to recycle some lubricant samples and collect used lubricants;
Ready to suitable cleaner (such as oil, kerosene or strong alkaline solution), in order to clean can reuse of shaft, bearing, and bearing.
remove
It is recommended to use the following method to remove the bearing:
Manually remove;
Using hydraulic power tool to remove;
Use the method to remove oil filled;
Using the heating method remove
inspection and lubrication of the bearing
Check the lubrication
Regardless of the date of manufacture of greases and oils , should be visually inspected before use it.
For grease, check for any abnormal oil and moldy, discolored water or signs.
For the oil, check for any discoloration or aqueous conditions. If lubricating oil looks cloudy, it usually means have water pollution.
Comparison of grease and lubricants
Grease is the most widely used lubricant when lubricating bearings, because it has more advantages compared with the lubricating oil, and often more cost-effective. Less than 20% of the rolling bearing lubricating oil for lubrication.
And working conditions for the application of lubricant is crucial matches, considering lubricant delivery methods, installation and maintenance are equally important. In between grease and oil lubrication selection, should take into account many factors.
